Your size is your waist in inches — size 32 fits a 32-inch waist. The concealed waist gives a little either way, so if you're between sizes, size down for a closer fit, up for a relaxed one. Full measurements coming shortly.

THE PROBLEM

Luxury shouldn't come with a catch.

Tailored swim shorts have got very good at one thing: looking good. They're cut for the photo, not the man actually wearing them - so comfort comes a distant second. Which is why men end up improvising: cutting out the ichy mesh, wearing boxers underneath, putting up with shorts that look a lot better than they feel.

That's not luxury. That's compromise.

OUR SOLUTION

Three things we spent the most time getting right.

  • Lined with fabric that doesn’t itch, chafe, or rub.

    Traditional mesh is coarse and uncomfortable. We replaced it with a soft internal fabric that feels more like your favourite boxers - no itching or chafing, even when wet.

  • An invisible waist system that moves - then disappears

    Premium shorts don’t give at the waist. Elasticated waists don’t look tailored. Our invisible waist system expands when you do, then returns cleanly into place, so the shorts still look tailored.

  • Designed around how men actually sit and move.

    Most tailored swim shorts are designed to look good when you’re standing still. We reworked the proportions through the thighs and seat so they move properly when you don’t.

We want to serve men better, and that shouldn’t stop at the point of sale. Every part of the experience has been designed with the same care as the shorts themselves, from ordering to delivery, returns to everyday wear.

    Take the time you need to decide, and if you change your mind, it won’t cost you a thing. Returning them shouldn’t feel like punishment.

  • Packaging that fits

    Delivered through your letterbox and returned through a postbox. No need to stay home for delivery or queue at the post office to return.

  • No faff

    No tissue paper and inserts that end up in the bin. Just the shorts, in a box that is built to reseal, making returns as simple as possible.

A message from the founder.

In 2021, coming out of lockdown, I booked a holiday and went to pack. I opened my drawer, pulled out my swim shorts and realised I’d cut the mesh out of every pair I owned.

They were expensive. They looked great. But even without the lining, the moment you sat down, the discomfort came back.

The only alternatives were compression-lined sports shorts. Comfortable, yes - but shapeless. I didn’t want to give up looking good just to feel comfortable. And I didn’t see why comfort should be the price of style.

Tailor Blue started from that frustration.
